Music and your health

Listening to music can have the same effect on your body as does laughing and exercise. So say researchers at the University of Maryland. By tuning in to their favourite tracks for 30 minutes, participants’ blood vessels dilated. This allows the blood to flow easier, which can help prevent blood clots. Blood clots can lead to heart attacks and strokes. Just make sure the music you listen to is what you like – as listening to music the participants disliked led to the narrowing of blood vessels.
